The Life Cube is a community art installation which provides an engaging and interactive place for the shared expression of ambitions, dreams, goals, and wishes. This project encourages participants to look at their past, engage in the present, and set goals for the future. It is based on the artist’s belief that if you write down what you want to accomplish in life, the chances of attaining it is much, much higher![vimeo http://vimeo.com/88944146]
In January of 2014, a 24′ x 24′ Life Cube was construction on an entire city block in the East Fremont district of downtown Las Vegas. Local artists and members of the community painted every surface, and like its past versions, the Cube became covered in evolving and overlapping murals from its many visitors. After 69 days in Las Vegas, the giant Life Cube was burned in a festival that featured bands, DJs, fire dancing, and even a fashion show![vimeo http://vimeo.com/70134025]
Through three iterations at Burning Man (2011, 2012, and 2013), thousands of people have touched, climbed, inscribed, painted, and added their personal visions to the Life Cube. The project has grown larger and more interactive with each passing year, impacting more and more lives along the way.
